Playing the Moldovans at Tennis
Tuesday, July 10, 2012 at 8:22AM The other night I sat down with my daughter and watched Playing the Moldovans at Tennis the latest film from comic, writer and all around rather charming chap Tony Hawkes. We both really enjoyed this quirky, touching and funny film. It's a good test, if an old bloke and a teenage girl both like a film, I think that's a fairly good test.
Tony is currently trudging around the country showing the film at various locations, if he's in your neck of the woods pop along and have a look. Not only is he a supremely gifted storyteller, musician and performer, he's also raising money for a very good cause which is subtlety revealing in the film.
Top stuff.

I'm reading the book at the moment! Fascinating look at a very different society and Tony is such a funny and persuasive author. After reading his 'Round Ireland with a Fridge' we moved from Sussex to County Cork.
I loved this book (as with most of Tony's). Anyway, Robert, I know you're probably horrifically busy and get requests like this all the time, but I'm a writer for a Retro Magazine called Retro Fusion. I've been asked to do an article on the greatest sci-fi show of all time, so wondered if one of its stars could help. Kind Regards Graeme wizzo31(at)yahoo.com
